During the October heist, three women and a man entered the Campus Jewelers at 5 River Road and distracted the two salespersons while the man stole jewelry from behind the counter and put it in a brown paper shopping bag that he was carrying, said Wilton Police Lt. Robert Kluk.
The suspects then purchased an item with cash and then left the store with the stolen jewelry totaling over $21,000, he added.
Following a lengthy investigation, on Feb. 14, Erika Santa, 32, was arrested by the NYPD and members of the Nassau County Police Department near her home in Jamaica N.Y., as a fugitive from justice, Kluk said.
On Friday, after waiving extradition Santa was turned over to Wilton Police Detectives.
She was charged with larceny and conspiracy to commit larceny and released on $100,000 bail.
Her mother, Yolanda Santa, 56, of Ridgewood, was arrested in January and charged with first-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit first-degree larceny.
Two more arrests are expected in the case.
